Initial Prototype - 30/06/11
Our prototype build was made in two and a half days at AIE. As basic as it is, we liked it so much that we decided to make it our final project.
At this stage bumping was the only mechanic. The slippery blue floor made it much easier to push someone off but also much easier to fall off yourself.

Bumper Carnage
Bumper Carnage is our first creation as a team, so we're really excited to get it finished. The zaney ideas from our members have clustered together to make a game we know you'll enjoy. This mulitplayer bumper car game creates a great party atmosphere as you franticly dodge players one second, only to be smacked off the level by a ghost train the next. We're finding it hard to work on it because we just want to keep playing!

Early Development - 28/07/11
Our first level idea was a big top carnival tent. The players would battle it out in the arena as normal, but there's the extra danger of a huge fricken lion that comes out of his cage every so often and terrorises any player that gets too close. We added Power Ups into the game which created more action fueled gameplay. There was Boost, a Bullet that players can shoot, and Phase Shift that made the player unable to be hit for a certain amount of time. Strategies developed as to when and where power ups would be used.
Alpha Build - 18.08.11
This was our level building process. We experimented with different styles and came up with a haunted house level and a space level. The haunted level would have a ghost train that comes along and bashes players off the level, the space level had a moving platform in the middle, but was scrapped because it was far too easy to fall off. Power ups were added: Shockwave would blast any nearby player into oblivion, Bear Traps could be layed down and would immobilise any player that ran over them. If you were really unlucky you'd get a Bomb that hovers over your head until it explodes, killing whoever had it at the time. Running into another player passes it to them so everyone immediately turns around and runs away.
